Today I want to show you a hospital design that shows clearly the new path healthcare architecture & design is following. The Johns Hopkins Hospital was created by Perkins + Will firm. The architecture & design plays with different colors & shapes giving a lot of life to the overall neutral tones space. The children tower lobby has the cow jumping over the 28 phases of the moon by artist Robert Israel. The elevator lobby has artist Timothy Woodman’s voyage paper collage with blue & orange walls. Also there is the painted fiberglass sculpture School of Puffer Fish by artist Robert Israel. I really like the idea of having hospitals with such great & playful design.
